Situated in a prestigious and historical area of Singapore, Sophia Hills is a 492 unit condominium that also consists of 3 conservation buildings. These 3 conservation buildings are to be restored and reused as a childcare center/kindergarten, a restaurant and a clubhouse and gym for the condominium development. The development sits on the top of the hill, giving it a commanding view of Orchard Road, Fort Canning and the Civic District. The design took the various demands of the terrain, conservation guidelines and shape of the site among many other things and contained these elements using simplified “strokes”. A contrasting counterpoint to the site and the conservation buildings was created to allow the historical elements shine through.
